Please join us in Charlottesville for our November 16th alumni event!

The event will be held from 9:30 a.m - 4:30 p.m. at the Department of Forestry (900 Natural Resources Dr., Charlottesville) and includes:

  • Speed networking
  • Immunity to Change training with Dr. Andy Pennock, Assistant Professor of Public Policy at UVA's Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy. This session is designed to provide value for both early career and seasoned professionals.  If you have a behavior you strongly want to change, but have been unable to change through resolutions, hard work, and incentive systems, then this is the right workshop for you.
  • Brainstorming ideas for catalyzing the VNRLI alumni network and shaping the alumni experience.
  • Lunch is included for all participants (please note any dietary restrictions when you register).

Andrew Pennock is a professor at the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy at UVA.  He brings 15 years of classroom experience at some of the nation’s best universities (UNC, Brown, UVA, and Harvard) and research-based leadership development programs to the table.  He’s passionate about helping people grow in their ability to lead by understanding themselves and their challenges more fully.

Registration fee: $75 - please fill out the registration form and mail your payment to VNRLI (instructions can be found on the form), or register online here (online registration includes a $2 administrative fee). A limited amount of scholarship assistance is available to individuals from underserved communities, or organizations who work with those populations. Please contact Kelly Altizer ( if you're interested in that opportunity.

Registration Deadline: November 5th

This event is open only to alumni of the Virginia Natural Resources Leadership Institute.
